About the Business
Lincoln Art Programme was a curatorial platform established in 2009 and concluded in 2013. The programme focused on working with artists to create new work in Lincolnshire. Using a nomadic framework, without a gallery or static space, the organisation used the county and its various histories, events, communities and evolving landscapes as sites, spaces and starting points. Many artists that worked with the programme had never visited the county before, and consequently all projects started with the artists undertaking a number of site visits to the region. It's these short visits that exposed artists to Lincolnshire's sites, histories and people, which provided the beginnings of dialogue for creating new work. Working in partnership with venues and sites across the region the programme looked to locate contemporary art amongst daily Lincolnshire life, allowing for new work and the issues and debate that this work raised to proliferate throughout Lincolnshire's rural and urban communities.
